Meet Alanna…
Hello, I’m Alanna and the founder of A Few Scoops! I had the idea back in 2019, whilst on maternity leave with my little girl, Adeline. I had been working in the corporate world for a long time and always wanted to set up my own business, but never really knew what sort of business that would be!
The Vision…
On Father’s Day in June 2019, my husband, daughter and I went out for a walk and stopped for a refreshment break. He wanted an ice cream. I wanted an ice cream and a glass of wine! I got thinking about the possibilities of having the two combined and there, in that moment, on a bench in Haigh Kitchen Courtyard, A Few Scoops was born.
The Launch…
It took months of experimenting and playing around with recipes and ideas. In November 2019, I felt like I had the makings of something. I wrote a business plan, chatted to some banks, finally securing a loan to start the business up in February 2020. And then the following month….lockdown.
I spent the next 12 months building the brand, doing home deliveries and tonnes of market research. Finally, in May 2021, A Few Scoops officially launched.
It’s been a wild ride but this is just the beginning…
